After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Metehan Soysal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ataol Özkent could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Fevzi Müslim made a huge save. Metehan Soysal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cumhur Özkent kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. The supporters of Mersin SK booed when Giresun JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Yüksel Baştürk didn't get a good kick on the ball. Birsel Dertsiz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ali Kürşat Özgenalp in the 36th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Mersin SK's zone, Yüksel Baştürk stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fevzi Müslim came out of the goal and Yüksel Baştürk tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Metehan Soysal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birsel Dertsiz having to interfere. Birsel Dertsiz came out of the goal and Metehan Soysal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Birsel Dertsiz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Metehan Soysal, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. In the 61st minute, Metehan Soysal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Metehan Soysal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birsel Dertsiz having to interfere. Giresun JK's Birsel Dertsiz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Giresun JK from getting a goal against them. During the 69th minute of the match Cumhur Özkent completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cumhur Özkent a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ahmet Hasan Uzsoy, 71 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nebi Nezir during the 72nd minute. Mersin SK's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
