The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ahmet Sedat Tekgül showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olgun Hallaçoğlu, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. URZ61's Olgun Hallaçoğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, Şenol Savaşer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ahmet Sedat Tekgül. Galatasaray's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Şenol Savaşer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Songurhan Nusrettin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Uğuralp Kökşin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Şadi Sabih had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ahmet Sedat Tekgül made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şenol Savaşer in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Şenol Savaşer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The URZ61 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 26 minutes into the game, URZ61's Ahmet Ali Müşfik nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ahmet Sedat Tekgül made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Şenol Savaşer in the 30th minute of play forced Galatasaray's goalkeeper Ahmet Sedat Tekgül to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ahmet Sedat Tekgül showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Şenol Savaşer in the 32nd minute of the match. Uğuralp Kökşin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haldun Yaruk, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Şenol Savaşer scored 0-4 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ahmet Sedat Tekgül, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Haldun Yaruk made a kick off. In the 63rd minute Haldun Yaruk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uğuralp Kökşin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the game, Aytekin Tamkoç was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. URZ61's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galatasaray the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Haldun Yaruk managed to get in a good position for a shot. Galatasaray's supporters rose to their feet, but Haldun Yaruk was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Uğuralp Kökşin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ahmet Ali Müşfik during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Olgun Hallaçoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Şenol Savaşer took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Ahmet Sedat Tekgül to make any attempt to save it. Şenol Savaşer might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ahmet Sedat Tekgül. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. But to his dismay, Haldun Yaruk quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. The URZ61 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
