Spectators: 7213 (Terracing: 5411, Seating: 1659, VIP seats: 143) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dorukhan Hanbeyi took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ankaragücü's zone, Rahim Erdem stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vatan Akboğa came out of the goal and Rahim Erdem tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 6th minute, Özalp Gökalp hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Serbülent Şahsuvaroğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Vatan Akboğa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rahim Erdem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 14 minutes into the match, Ankaragücü's goal looked a bit too open when Lütfullah Fişek came free, but Vatan Akboğa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tolga Usum hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 18th minute, Serbülent Şahsuvaroğlu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kocaelispor fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Ahmet Arif Ufki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorukhan Hanbeyi in the 22nd minute of play. A hard shot by Onur Özerkmen from long distance, 26 minutes into the match, got Ahmet Arif Ufki's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Serbülent Şahsuvaroğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. In the 36th minute, Dorukhan Hanbeyi fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Serbülent Şahsuvaroğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ankaragücü's Vatan Akboğa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rahim Erdem in the 40th minute of play. After 41 played minutes Ankaragücü got a freekick which was hit by Bircan Balkanlı. Barışcan Ensar tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Vatan Akboğa. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 44th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ankaragücü's Vatan Akboğa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lütfullah Fişek in the 70th minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Özalp Gökalp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kocaelispor fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. Rahim Erdem sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 77 minutes of play, Kocaelispor's Özalp Gökalp made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vatan Akboğa was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Habib Ağaoğlu in the 83rd minute of play forced Kocaelispor's goalkeeper Ahmet Arif Ufki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vatan Akboğa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rahim Erdem, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute Dorukhan Hanbeyi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmet Arif Ufki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Habib Ağaoğlu in the 88th minute of play forced Kocaelispor's goalkeeper Ahmet Arif Ufki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rahim Erdem did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-6 to the left of a surprised Vatan Akboğa 89 minutes into the match. Lütfullah Fişek hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Onur Özerkmen took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 97th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ahmet Arif Ufki. Kocaelispor's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Kocaelispor's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
