Boğaç Orcun fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehmet Şefik Murat having to interfere. Hami Koralp kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Sertel Bedi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 11 played minutes FENERBAHÇE got a freekick which was hit by Mehmet Hakkı Altıparmak. FENERBAHÇE's Ali Nabi Kazım shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 16th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Özden Tuğrul but with some difficulty. Sertel Bedi in the 19thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Özden Tuğrul, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Hatay's Özden Tuğrul proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Hatay from getting a goal against them. 23 minutes into the match, Hatay's goalkeeper Özden Tuğrul had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sertel Bedi. If Sertel Bedi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the game, Sertel Bedi cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Özden Tuğrul was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Necati Kutulmuş recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 33rd match minute, Hatay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hakkı Deniz Uğur to maneuver through the defense. 36 minutes into the match, Hatay's goal looked a bit too open when Necati Kutulmuş came free, but Özden Tuğrul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Özden Tuğrul stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Necati Kutulmuş's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Hami Koralp kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Sertel Bedi managed to get in a good position for a shot. FENERBAHÇE's supporters rose to their feet, but Sertel Bedi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Özden Tuğrul breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Boğaç Orcun made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, FENERBAHÇE's goal looked a bit too open when Boğaç Orcun came free, but Mehmet Şefik Murat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 54th minute Hatay were awarded a corner. Alparslan Kızılateş went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Atilla Kurtaran managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The crowd rose to their feet as Hami Koralp kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mehmet Şefik Murat. That made the score 1-1 in the 56 minute of play. Necati Kutulmuş scored 2-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Özden Tuğrul, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hakkı Deniz Uğur kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Necati Kutulmuş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Özden Tuğrul having to interfere. Necati Kutulmuş struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Özden Tuğrul didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FENERBAHÇE. The audience was convinced that Necati Kutulmuş's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Özden Tuğrul was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. When Hatay's Boğaç Orcun in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FENERBAHÇE's goalie prevented a goal. Necati Kutulmuş received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Özden Tuğrul tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hami Koralp charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hami Koralp the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. FENERBAHÇE were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Hatay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ali Nabi Kazım took the corner. Necati Kutulmuş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Özden Tuğrul having to interfere. Mehmet Hakkı Altıparmak hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Alparslan Kızılateş, 90 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. FENERBAHÇE were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Hatay for a fine match.
