Fenerist's supporters rose to their feet, but Emirşah Yurtseven was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Çetin Varol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 28th minute the ball was on its way in behind İskenderunspor's goalkeeper Çetin Varol, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 29 played minutes İskenderunspor got a freekick which was hit by Suavi Beycan. İskenderunspor's Çetin Varol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emirşah Yurtseven in the 32nd minute of play. The supporters of Fenerist booed when İskenderunspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alperen Nevzat didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in İskenderunspor's zone, Emirşah Yurtseven stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Çetin Varol came out of the goal and Emirşah Yurtseven tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Çetin Varol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emirşah Yurtseven in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Korkut Orsan in the 44th minute of play forced İskenderunspor's goalkeeper Çetin Varol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emirşah Yurtseven was the one to do the kick off. If Korkut Orsan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 68th minute, Erhan Uygur hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Çetin Varol made an important save on a dangerous shot by Korkut Orsan in the 72nd minute. Affan Perinçek came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by İskenderunspor's Şenol Saraç. But to his dismay, Şenol Saraç quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. A collision led to İskenderunspor getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Suavi Beycan hit a great ball. 80 minutes into the match, İskenderunspor's goalkeeper Çetin Varol had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Korkut Orsan. If Emirşah Yurtseven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, İskenderunspor's Mustafa Kemal Giyas got a free kick in the 84th minute. Emirşah Yurtseven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The tension between the Fenerist and the İskenderunspor players grew even worse after the yellow card.
