In the 20th minute, Hulusi Haneci ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Affan Perinçek was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 25 minutes into the match, Fenerist's goal looked a bit too open when Hulusi Haneci came free, but Affan Perinçek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Hulusi Haneci's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Affan Perinçek was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Hulusi Haneci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Affan Perinçek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Emirşah Yurtseven managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenerist's supporters rose to their feet, but Emirşah Yurtseven was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Talha Avcıoğlu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Korkut Orsan came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Fenerist fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Korkut Orsan couldn't finish the play. Emirşah Yurtseven received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Talha Avcıoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half karagümrük were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emirşah Yurtseven made a kick off. Fenerist's Karadeniz Beksan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Talha Avcıoğlu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Necip Fazıl Öğün came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the karagümrük fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Necip Fazıl Öğün couldn't finish the play. In the 67th minute Necip Fazıl Öğün shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Affan Perinçek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 70 played minutes karagümrük got a freekick which was hit by Veli Kamer. 75 minutes into the game, Cenap Laçin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. karagümrük's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fenerist the free kick. In the 75th match minute, karagümrük was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cenap Laçin to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emirşah Yurtseven in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Talha Avcıoğlu saved karagümrük from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Fenerist's zone, Hulusi Haneci stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Affan Perinçek came out of the goal and Hulusi Haneci tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Affan Perinçek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Necip Fazıl Öğün in the 87th minute of play. After 89 played minutes, Fenerist's Rıdvan Sudi shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Talha Avcıoğlu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fenerist reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Korkut Orsan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenerist's supporters rose to their feet, but Korkut Orsan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Talha Avcıoğlu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Fenerist fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. karagümrük were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
