Spectators: 7236 (Terracing: 5429, Seating: 1664, VIP seats: 143) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sedat Sezer kicked off to start the match. Çetin Varol took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sedat Sezer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. İskenderunspor's Çetin Varol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mesut Bayraktaroğlu in the 9th minute of play. Gencalp İklim made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Şenol Saraç sent off a good shot on target. Çetin Varol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mesut Bayraktaroğlu in the 19th minute of the match. Mesut Bayraktaroğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sedat Sezer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Çetin Varol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Çetin Varol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sedat Sezer, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Gencalp İklim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Şenol Saraç went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Mesut Bayraktaroğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Çetin Varol having to interfere. After 34 played minutes İskenderunspor got a freekick which was hit by Alperen Nevzat. If Sedat Sezer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gencalp İklim made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Şenol Saraç sent off a good shot on target. When Birol Ruzi came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the İskenderunspor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Birol Ruzi couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Birol Ruzi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dernekpazari's Gencalp İklim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Birol Ruzi in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the match, Birol Ruzi notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Dernekpazari's Gencalp İklim. Gencalp İklim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Suavi Beycan in the 58th minute of play forced Dernekpazari's goalkeeper Gencalp İklim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Birol Ruzi managed to get in a good position for a shot. İskenderunspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Birol Ruzi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gencalp İklim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 65th minute, Dernekpazari's Sedat Sezer ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Çetin Varol. Çetin Varol yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. When Şenol Saraç came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the İskenderunspor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Şenol Saraç couldn't finish the play. In the 70th minute, Şenol Saraç got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Çetin Varol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sedat Sezer in the 74th minute of play. In the 78th minute Sedat Sezer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Çetin Varol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th minute, Sedat Sezer fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Mesut Bayraktaroğlu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Çetin Varol having to interfere. In the 95th minute of the match Dernekpazari got a corner. İskenderunspor's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Necip Atasan ran over to the corner to take the kick. İskenderunspor's Çetin Varol proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save İskenderunspor from getting a goal against them. İskenderunspor's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
