Atak Öğüç hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 24 minutes into the match, Cal SK's Abdi Saygın Akşit broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Osman Sehriyar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tacettin İplikçi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Güntekin Vacit having to interfere. After having played for 33 minutes, Tacettin İplikçi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FENERBAHÇE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tacettin İplikçi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Şenol Karun in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Suat Egesel saved FENERBAHÇE from getting behind. Suat Egesel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Osman Sehriyar in the 41st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cal SK's Çağdaş Zeynel got a free kick in the 43rd minute.

54 minutes into the match, Cal SK's Şenol Karun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Suat Egesel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Suat Egesel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Osman Sehriyar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner ended in Ahmet Seyfi Ülkenur almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FENERBAHÇE's Suat Egesel did a great save.
