With his leg Ekrem Canbolat managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Chester FC's Ahmet Hakan Akasma fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 19 minutes in the game, Enver Sayıl fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ekrem Canbolat having to interfere. Gökay Muhsin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vefa Orcun in the 22nd minute of the match. After 24 minutes Chester FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Görkem Şahsar who took care of the corner kick. Görkem Şahsar made a great header on GALATASARAY's corner, it was just that Chester FC's Gökay Muhsin managed to reach the ball for a save. The Chester FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gökay Muhsin should have stopped the shot. Chester FC's Gökay Muhsin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Krister Wennersten in the 37th minute of play. Gökay Muhsin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vefa Orcun in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Krister Wennersten left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GALATASARAY fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Vural Dede kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Görkem Şahsar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Semail Deryace managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chester FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Semail Deryace was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ekrem Canbolat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Krister Wennersten kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gökay Muhsin. That made the score 1-4 in the 57 minute of play. In the 69th minute Ahmet Hakan Akasma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ekrem Canbolat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Şahin Ağaoğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ekrem Canbolat read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. In the 73rdth minute of the game Ahmet Hakan Akasma who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GALATASARAY's Ekrem Canbolat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chester FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Mustafa Haydar Kerim in the 74th minute. The corner led to Chester FC's Ahmet Hakan Akasma getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. After a defensive mix-up in GALATASARAY's zone, Şahin Ağaoğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ekrem Canbolat came out of the goal and Şahin Ağaoğlu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Enver Sayıl came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Chester FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enver Sayıl couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as GALATASARAY's Vefa Orcun slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gökay Muhsin. That made the score 1-5 after 84 minutes of play. 87 minutes into the match, Chester FC's goal looked a bit too open when Krister Wennersten came free, but Gökay Muhsin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Chester FC defense, Vefa Orcun kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gökay Muhsin. The Chester FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gökay Muhsin should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Chester FC's Gökay Muhsin got control of the ball when Mesut Kayrar tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match was over GALATASARAY could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Chester FC throughout the match.
