Ercis's Sait Onursay got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 17 minutes, Sait Onursay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ercis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sait Onursay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sait Onursay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vehdi Ünalp didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sarper Sırat went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Ercis's Cavit Kavi got a free kick in the 27th minute. Necip Fazıl Tekdoğan struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Vehdi Ünalp didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ercis. Sait Onursay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Vehdi Ünalp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Recep Tayyip Tugay took the ball and in the 47 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Şenol Koçyiğit. Şenol Koçyiğit dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Recep Tayyip Tugay to make the kick off. Vehdi Ünalp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sait Onursay in the 54th minute of the match. Ali Hamza Sayar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Karamanköy's Şenol Koçyiğit threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Recep Tayyip Tugay, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
