Sertaç Eronat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Haydar İrgun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Haşim Sümre fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Karsiyaka's protests and gave Haşim Sümre a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Karsiyaka's Haşim Sümre got a free kick in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Karsiyaka's goalkeeper Haydar İrgun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ahmet Danış Özbil. Haydar İrgun was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Oktay Özguc showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play.
