FENERBAHÇE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ulu Şemsi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Ensar Beşir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tuncay Bağışhan in the 28th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuncay Bağışhan in the 47th minute of play forced FENERBAHÇE's goalkeeper Ensar Beşir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Kudret Boz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Ceyhan Tümcan, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Ulu Şemsi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ulu Şemsi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th match minute, FENERBAHÇE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tuncay Akgöl to maneuver through the defense.
