Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Necaettin Özsungur started the match with the kick off. In the 6th match minute, MERSİN İDMAN YURDU was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lemi Bakırhan to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the match, MERSİN İDMAN YURDU's goal looked a bit too open when Necaettin Özsungur came free, but Hurşit Yaslı reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hurşit Yaslı stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Necaettin Özsungur's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Recai Orun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hatemi Özgener, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Orhan Veli Gültekin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hurşit Yaslı having to interfere. After some careless play in the MERSİN İDMAN YURDU defense, Orhan Veli Gültekin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hurşit Yaslı. The MERSİN İDMAN YURDU fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hurşit Yaslı should have stopped the shot. 43 minutes into the match, Beşiktaş's Orhan Veli Gültekin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hurşit Yaslı narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Orhan Veli Gültekin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hatemi Özgener recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Hatemi Özgener made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Beşiktaş's Mikail Oykan got a free kick in the 54th minute. Hatemi Özgener sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Orhan Veli Gültekin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Hurşit Yaslı tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Orhan Veli Gültekin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 67thth minute of the game Necaettin Özsungur who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but MERSİN İDMAN YURDU's Hurşit Yaslı was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Hurşit Yaslı came out of the goal in the 70th minute to try and stop a shot by Beşiktaş's Necaettin Özsungur. But to his dismay, Necaettin Özsungur quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Rahman Özozan kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. If Necaettin Özsungur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 80 played minutes MERSİN İDMAN YURDU got a freekick which was hit by Suavi Sadullah. In the 81st minute, Melik Baltacı sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and MERSİN İDMAN YURDU's Hurşit Yaslı didn't even have to move. Hurşit Yaslı showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Necaettin Özsungur in the 83rd minute of the match. A collision led to MERSİN İDMAN YURDU getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Hüseyin Turan Sözen hit a great ball. When Orhan Veli Gültekin came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Beşiktaş fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Orhan Veli Gültekin couldn't finish the play. After having played for 96 minutes, Hüseyin Turan Sözen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MERSİN İDMAN YURDU's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hüseyin Turan Sözen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Beşiktaş walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
