The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cem Özgiray was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 26 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the game, one of Gelibolu:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The crowd rose to their feet as Eray Alpaslan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Celal Karacabey. That made the score 2-1 in the 32 minute of play. Erenay Afacan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celal Karacabey having to interfere. When Türkeş Nurtekin came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the KARADAŞ FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Türkeş Nurtekin couldn't finish the play. Artaç Gemici charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artaç Gemici the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Batur Uğuralp's late challenge caught a Gelibolu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Batur Uğuralp helped the player get up and apologised. In the 52nd match minute, KARADAŞ FK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Batur Uğuralp to maneuver through the defense. Ahmet Arif Tümer in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mustafa Kemal Uğurlu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Celal Karacabey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Türkeş Nurtekin's shot from short distance in the 78th minute.
