But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mehmet Bedri Ilgaz couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Üsküdar Spor's zone, Aykutalp Eyüp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Özkan Selahaddin came out of the goal and Aykutalp Eyüp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee ignored Mucur's protests and gave Mehmet Akif Yıldırım a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th play minute Taci Suerkan came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ahmet Kutsi Pekalp. 1-0. Taci Suerkan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ahmet Kutsi Pekalp having to interfere. In the 34th minute Mehmet Bedri Ilgaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Özkan Selahaddin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aykutalp Eyüp's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Özkan Selahaddin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. Mucur were furious when Behzat Eslem was red carded, 37 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mucur! Ulvi Yarkın recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

After 57th play minutes Mehmet Bedri Ilgaz shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Özkan Selahaddin and just under the crossbar into goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Mehmet Bedri Ilgaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mucur's supporters rose to their feet, but Mehmet Bedri Ilgaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Özkan Selahaddin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aykutalp Eyüp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Mehmet Bedri Ilgaz struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Özkan Selahaddin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mucur. Mehmet Bedri Ilgaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Özkan Selahaddin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Süleyman Semi charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Süleyman Semi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 88th minute, Süleyman Semi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mehmet Bedri Ilgaz got free with Özkan Selahaddin in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ulvi Yarkın hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 93rd match minute, Mucur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ege Tamerk to maneuver through the defense.
