Kuzey Eralkan stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ercan Maksut. 1-1. Dursun Koçaş struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Fadıl Kızıl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1925 GÖZTEPE. Üzeyir Yağızalp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ceyhun Ermiye's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fadıl Kızıl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Üzeyir Yağızalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fadıl Kızıl having to interfere. 45 minutes into the game, 1925 GÖZTEPE's Dursun Koçaş nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fadıl Kızıl made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

After 54 minutes, Duman Taci mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kirecburnu and the 1925 GÖZTEPE players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 54th minute, Duman Taci hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Üzeyir Yağızalp's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fadıl Kızıl was relentless in the 66th minute of the game.
