The supporters of Halkali booed when Bornova JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Okan Eroğul didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bornova JK's Umut Senih played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yüce Rezan in the 15th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Bornova JK's goal looked a bit too open when Zeki Utkan came free, but Umut Senih reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Okan Eroğul made a kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Halkali's Zeki Utkan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Umut Senih narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
