Merinos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Osman Nuri Aurelio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Merinos's Rüştü Doğanten played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barışcan Terzioğlu in the 39th minute of play. In the 47th minute Barışcan Terzioğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rüştü Doğanten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mustafa Arif Kıralp made a kick off. In the 54th minute, Ahmet Vefik Yaybüke got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 55 minutes into the game, Cat's Barışcan Terzioğlu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rüştü Doğanten made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Halil İbrahim İşçen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Rüştü Doğanten. That made the score 0-4 in the 59 minute of play. When Hamza Akkılıç fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Merinos's protests and gave Hamza Akkılıç a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Cat booed when Merinos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hamza Akkılıç didn't get a good kick on the ball. Songurbey Helvacıoğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rüştü Doğanten read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Cat's Abidin İdrisoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mustafa Arif Kıralp in the 83rd minute of play. Barışcan Terzioğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Barışcan Terzioğlu in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rüştü Doğanten saved Merinos from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oğuzer Günay in the 91st minute of play forced Cat's goalkeeper Abidin İdrisoğlu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Merinos's goalkeeper Rüştü Doğanten had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Barışcan Terzioğlu. When the final whistle sounded Cat left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Merinos.
