Tolga Baytüzün took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mustafa Birol Umman. Mustafa Birol Umman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 8 played minutes Besiktas got a freekick which was hit by Bekir Onultan. After a rather tough play, Besiktas's Gökhun Tunçkılıç got a free kick in the 19th minute. Mustafa Birol Umman acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 20th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Kemalettin Taşkıner. Orhan Bayır fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dilmen Alatay having to interfere. Mustafa Birol Umman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tolga Baytüzün in the 35th minute. When Yakacik's Cihangir Sonalp in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Besiktas's goalie prevented a goal. Besiktas's Mustafa Birol Umman proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Besiktas from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Yakacik's zone, Samim Seçkiner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dilmen Alatay came out of the goal and Samim Seçkiner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Orhan Bayır fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dilmen Alatay having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cihangir Sonalp made a kick off. The supporters of Besiktas booed when Yakacik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kamil Özben didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orhan Bayır fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dilmen Alatay having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Cihangir Sonalp in the 65th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Cihangir Sonalp might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mustafa Birol Umman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cihangir Sonalp ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 81st minute, Cihangir Sonalp left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yakacik fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Mustafa Birol Umman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cihangir Sonalp in the 86th minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 91st minute of the game. One of Besiktas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Yakacik:s goal. In the 97th minute Tolga Baytüzün shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mustafa Birol Umman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Yakacik fans cheered their team off the field, for while Besiktas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
