The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Boğaçhan Tamay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aydın Safir having to interfere. Aydın Safir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Güneş Suha in the 6th minute of play. Güneş Suha struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Aydın Safir didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Catalcesme. In the 8th minute Boğaçhan Tamay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aydın Safir saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Güneş Suha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aydın Safir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boğaçhan Tamay in the 11th minute of play. Boğaçhan Tamay sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aydın Safir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Münir Sadiray in the 17th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes AYYILDIZ SK got a freekick which was hit by Erbatur Türkeş. Bedirhan Ongar, 29 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Münir Sadiray in the 39th minute of play forced AYYILDIZ SK's goalkeeper Aydın Safir to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Musa Vacip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yenal Utkan having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, AYYILDIZ SK's goal looked a bit too open when Güneş Suha came free, but Aydın Safir reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boğaçhan Tamay in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aydın Safir saved AYYILDIZ SK from getting behind. In the 46th minute, Erbatur Türkeş hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Aydın Safir took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boğaçhan Tamay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Boğaçhan Tamay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aydın Safir made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Efekan Tugal in the 53rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Boğaçhan Tamay in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aydın Safir saved AYYILDIZ SK from getting behind. 0-1 became the score in the 57th minute when Boğaçhan Tamay elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Boğaçhan Tamay had to leave the field with a concussion. After 62 played minutes AYYILDIZ SK got a freekick which was hit by Batıhan Köksal. Münir Sadiray kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Güneş Suha's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Aydın Safir firmly grabbed it by the left post. Efekan Tugal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. With a little luck, AYYILDIZ SK's Aydın Safir got control of the ball when Efekan Tugal tried to sneak it across the goal line. Erbatur Türkeş received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Yenal Utkan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th play minute Güneş Suha came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Aydın Safir. 0-2. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Catalcesme eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
