The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Üzeyir Darga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abdullatif Özkurt, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Yiğit Özal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adil Özen in the 9th minute. Abdullatif Özkurt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Üzeyir Darga having to interfere. Fethi Adalıoğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Üzeyir Darga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. If Abdullatif Özkurt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute Mustafa Haydar Türkoğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yiğit Özal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Akpinar's zone, Fethi Adalıoğlu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Üzeyir Darga came out of the goal and Fethi Adalıoğlu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abdullatif Özkurt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Akpinar's Üzeyir Darga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdullatif Özkurt in the 30th minute of play. İrfan İskender hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. EZELSPOR's Mehdi Çoğaş couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Akpinar. EZELSPOR's Fethi Adalıoğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 40 minutes into the match, Akpinar's goal looked a bit too open when Fethi Adalıoğlu came free, but Üzeyir Darga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sungurhan Ulukaan hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Abdullatif Özkurt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Üzeyir Darga having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mustafa Haydar Türkoğlu to make the kick off. Aktan Tokgöz charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aktan Tokgöz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 54th minute, Aktan Tokgöz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 55 minutes in the game, Fethi Adalıoğlu dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abdullatif Özkurt in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Üzeyir Darga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Fethi Adalıoğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fethi Adalıoğlu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Üzeyir Darga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 70 played minutes Akpinar got a freekick which was hit by Sungurhan Ulukaan. If Abdullatif Özkurt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tanju Egeli's late challenge caught a Akpinar's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tanju Egeli helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Akpinar booed when EZELSPOR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tanju Egeli didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 played minutes EZELSPOR got a freekick which was hit by Ataol Arıhan. Akay Turcan charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Akay Turcan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, EZELSPOR's Akay Turcan got a free kick in the 87th minute. Ozan Canver, 88 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With a little luck, Akpinar's Üzeyir Darga got control of the ball when Fethi Adalıoğlu tried to sneak it across the goal line. EZELSPOR's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Akpinar had won, even though EZELSPOR had held more of the ball.
