Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) GÖZTEPE's Uluç Karanalp started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uluç Karanalp in the 5th minute of play forced Kastamonuspor's goalkeeper Tuna Mengübay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in GÖZTEPE's zone, Oğuzalp Cevan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Soner Böke came out of the goal and Oğuzalp Cevan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Peyami İlkay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mustafa İzzet Sakman hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Tuna Mengübay came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by GÖZTEPE's Peyami İlkay. But to his dismay, Peyami İlkay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Uluç Karanalp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tuna Mengübay having to interfere. Peyami İlkay struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Tuna Mengübay didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for GÖZTEPE. Tuna Mengübay made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Peyami İlkay sent off a good shot on target. Tuna Mengübay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uluç Karanalp in the 25th minute of play. When Peyami İlkay came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the GÖZTEPE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peyami İlkay couldn't finish the play. Oğuzalp Cevan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Soner Böke having to interfere. Tuna Mengübay was a little too slow when Peyami İlkay got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 44th minute. The score was now 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mehdi Karun stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, GÖZTEPE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cenap Uğur to maneuver through the defense. Kutlay Veysi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Soner Böke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mehdi Karun, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Soner Böke didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 56th minute, which inside left pole to 3-1. After a rather tough play, Kastamonuspor's Mehdi Karun got a free kick in the 74th minute. Kutlay Veysi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mehdi Karun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Soner Böke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
