A collision led to Istanbulspor getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Şinasi Uruz hit a great ball. Mithat Karabey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alperen Urluk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Alperen Urluk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mithat Karabey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Şerif Paşa in the 15th minute of play. After 18 minutes, Besim Uluerkan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Istanbulspor and the GakgoşSpor players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 19 played minutes Istanbulspor got a freekick which was hit by Besim Uluerkan. In the 22nd minute İlbey Keskinel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bahtiyar Kızıl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, İlbey Keskinel got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Istanbulspor's Mithat Karabey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Şerif Paşa in the 30th minute of play. Erol Saffet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Bahtiyar Kızıl made a huge save. Bahtiyar Kızıl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from İlbey Keskinel in the 34th minute of play. İlbey Keskinel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in GakgoşSpor's zone, Erol Saffet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bahtiyar Kızıl came out of the goal and Erol Saffet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bahtiyar Kızıl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from İlbey Keskinel, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Erol Saffet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Bahtiyar Kızıl made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in GakgoşSpor's zone, İlbey Keskinel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bahtiyar Kızıl came out of the goal and İlbey Keskinel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bahtiyar Kızıl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erol Saffet in the 46th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Istanbulspor's zone, Şerif Paşa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mithat Karabey came out of the goal and Şerif Paşa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alperen Urluk stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Istanbulspor's Mithat Karabey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Istanbulspor from getting a goal against them. Alperen Urluk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mithat Karabey having to interfere. GakgoşSpor's Şerif Paşa got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 63 minutes into the match, GakgoşSpor's goal looked a bit too open when Erol Saffet came free, but Bahtiyar Kızıl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 64th minute, Şerif Paşa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kamuran Tunak hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Bahtiyar Kızıl showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İlbey Keskinel in the 66th minute of the match. İlbey Keskinel might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bahtiyar Kızıl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. İlbey Keskinel ran back to his position shaking his head. 68 minutes into the game, Ruhi Hekimbaşı was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GakgoşSpor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Istanbulspor the free kick. Ruhi Hekimbaşı hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Alperen Urluk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mithat Karabey having to interfere. In the 77th play minute Şerif Paşa came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Mithat Karabey. 0-1. Bahtiyar Kızıl came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Istanbulspor's İlbey Keskinel. But to his dismay, İlbey Keskinel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Erol Saffet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers İlbey Keskinel in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bahtiyar Kızıl saved GakgoşSpor from getting behind. For all the effort they put into the match, the GakgoşSpor players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Istanbulspor.
