Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. İlbey Keskinel started the match with the kick off. Veysel Tokuztuğ in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Mithat Karabey, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 8 minutes into the match, Yalçın Ahid notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Ivrindi SK's Soner Arslanoğlu. Soner Arslanoğlu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Istanbulspor's defense didn't have a chance, in the 11th minute, when Bektaş Yaşam scored to the left of an out of position Mithat Karabey, making the score, 1-1. Erol Saffet's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Soner Arslanoğlu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erol Saffet in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Soner Arslanoğlu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 23rd minute, Yalçın Ahid hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Istanbulspor getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Yalçın Ahid hit a great ball. After 29 played minutes Istanbulspor got a freekick which was hit by Şinasi Uruz. In the 30th minute, Şanver Güdeş fired a really elegant long shot, but Mithat Karabey threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ivrindi SK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Uğuralp Öğün was slow to take the kick. During this time Istanbulspor's players had a chance to rest. Veysel Tokuztuğ charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Veysel Tokuztuğ the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ivrindi SK getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Veysel Tokuztuğ hit a great ball. Erol Saffet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Veysel Tokuztuğ's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 40thth minute, Mithat Karabey skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 42 minutes into the match, Istanbulspor's goal looked a bit too open when Bektaş Yaşam came free, but Mithat Karabey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Veysel Tokuztuğ had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Istanbulspor's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Bektaş Yaşam scored to the left of an out of position Mithat Karabey, making the score, 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bektaş Yaşam stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mithat Karabey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bektaş Yaşam, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. İlbey Keskinel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yalçın Ahid got free with Soner Arslanoğlu in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Atilla Oker's late challenge caught a Ivrindi SK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Atilla Oker helped the player get up and apologised. In the 81st match minute, Istanbulspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Atilla Oker to maneuver through the defense. Veysel Tokuztuğ received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Mithat Karabey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Erol Saffet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Soner Arslanoğlu having to interfere. Yalçın Ahid sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 92 minutes of play Istanbulspor's Atilla Oker was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Veysel Tokuztuğ received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Mithat Karabey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivrindi SK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
