Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. İlbey Keskinel started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Istanbulspor got a freekick which was hit by Mehdi Tuney. After a defensive mix-up in Bostanci's zone, İlbey Keskinel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hüsmen Mürşit came out of the goal and İlbey Keskinel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. İlbey Keskinel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Hüsmen Mürşit tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Istanbulspor defense, Adil Perkel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mithat Karabey. The Istanbulspor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mithat Karabey should have stopped the shot. Istanbulspor's Mithat Karabey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adil Perkel in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd match minute, Istanbulspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Işık İzgü to maneuver through the defense. If İlbey Keskinel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mithat Karabey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adil Perkel, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erol Saffet got free with Hüsmen Mürşit in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bostanci's Hüsmen Mürşit proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Bostanci from getting a goal against them. Erol Saffet recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hüsmen Mürşit stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of İlbey Keskinel's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adil Perkel made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Atilla Oker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hüsmen Mürşit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from İlbey Keskinel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that İlbey Keskinel's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hüsmen Mürşit was relentless in the 56th minute of the game.
