The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Özgün Özerman was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Baturay Soytekin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. Baturay Soytekin struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Özgün Özerman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Karagümrük SK. The supporters of Karagümrük SK booed when Ersisspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atak Yatman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mustafa Birol Özengin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saruhan Özgebay in the 13th minute of the match. If Baturay Soytekin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Baturay Soytekin got free with Özgün Özerman in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Özgün Özerman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zekai Akçınar in the 21st minute of play. If Zekai Akçınar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ali Sebuktekin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With an all-out effort, Karagümrük SK's Özgün Özerman threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Zekai Akçınar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 35th minute, Bilge Kağan Güleryüz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zekai Akçınar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Özgün Özerman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zekai Akçınar made a kick off. In the 58th match minute, Ersisspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bilge Kağan Güleryüz to maneuver through the defense. Şehzade Siyami, 59 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Ersisspor getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Bilge Kağan Güleryüz hit a great ball. Özgün Özerman stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zekai Akçınar's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Baturay Soytekin might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Özgün Özerman. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Baturay Soytekin ran back to his position shaking his head. When Baturay Soytekin came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Karagümrük SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baturay Soytekin couldn't finish the play.
