FENERBAHÇE's Güneş Hidayettin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vacib Güzir in the 13th minute of play. Deniz Nursal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Güneş Hidayettin having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Deniz Nursal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Güneş Hidayettin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Güneş Hidayettin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vacib Güzir, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Vacib Güzir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Güneş Hidayettin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vacib Güzir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The FENERBAHÇE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Güneş Hidayettin should have stopped the shot. 87 minutes into the game, Vacib Güzir recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Güneş Hidayettin. Vacib Güzir showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. If Deniz Nursal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
