Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erbatur Altınpınar in the 9th minute of the match. 9 minutes into the game, Andaç Hürsev was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Beşiktaş's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sivasspor the free kick. Andaç Hürsev hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Beşiktaş's Andaç Hürsev got a free kick in the 12th minute. Zafer Sümer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Gökçek Hazer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sivasspor's Gökçek Hazer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zafer Sümer in the 17th minute of play. Berat Baransel's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. Sivasspor's Berat Baransel got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Zafer Sümer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Berat Baransel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andaç Hürsev kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After 47 minutes, Eralp Akşit mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sivasspor and the Beşiktaş players grew even worse after the yellow card. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Orkun Rezzak to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Arif Ensar Durukan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Sivasspor defense, Zafer Sümer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gökçek Hazer. The Sivasspor fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gökçek Hazer should have stopped the shot. After 62 played minutes Beşiktaş got a freekick which was hit by Andaç Hürsev. Eralp Akşit might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eralp Akşit ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Affan Tanzer during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Berat Baransel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orkun Rezzak was extremely unlucky when he, in the 74th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 84th match minute, Sivasspor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by İshak Başar to maneuver through the defense. Berat Baransel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Beşiktaş's zone, Eralp Akşit stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan came out of the goal and Eralp Akşit tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Beşiktaş's Andaç Hürsev got a free kick in the 94th minute. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
