The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Beşiktaş's Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arda Velican in the 3rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Birdal Mahçup in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan saved Beşiktaş from getting behind. Arif Ensar Durukan hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Obscure FC's goalkeeper Haşmet Murat, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The supporters of Beşiktaş booed when Obscure FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Savaşer Mutluhan didn't get a good kick on the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Beşiktaş's goal looked a bit too open when Birdal Mahçup came free, but Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Arda Velican had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd match minute, Obscure FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Özmen Tanak to maneuver through the defense. Birdal Mahçup fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan having to interfere. In the 33rd minute of the match Hüsnü Sertel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Haşmet Murat skillfully saved the ball. Birdal Mahçup fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan having to interfere. If Birdal Mahçup had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erhun Tura took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan. Beşiktaş's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Arda Velican had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Arda Velican made the kick off in the second half. Zafer Sümer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haşmet Murat having to interfere. Birdal Mahçup received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 59 played minutes Obscure FC got a freekick which was hit by Özmen Tanak. Birdal Mahçup struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Obscure FC. After 65 minutes, Orkun Rezzak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Beşiktaş and the Obscure FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Orkun Rezzak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beşiktaş's supporters rose to their feet, but Orkun Rezzak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Haşmet Murat breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 72 minutes into the game, Yavuz Bülent Erçin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Obscure FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Beşiktaş the free kick. In the 72nd minute, Yavuz Bülent Erçin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 78th minute, Birdal Mahçup left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Obscure FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Beşiktaş's zone, Birdal Mahçup stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan came out of the goal and Birdal Mahçup tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Birdal Mahçup sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Birdal Mahçup sent off a good shot on target. Birdal Mahçup was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 93rd minute. Obscure FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 96 minutes into the match, Arda Velican dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mehmet Ferit Çoğahan, 0-2. When the match was over Obscure FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Beşiktaş throughout the match.
