The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Hazım Kuddusi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fıorentınaa9988's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Selami İzgü 8 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Abdulbaki Taygun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kılıçalp Güzir in the 13th minute of play. Kılıçalp Güzir succeeded in the game's 15th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. After 21 minutes of play, Gündogmus SK's Hazım Kuddusi made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ertunç Yastıkcığlu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ertunç Yastıkcığlu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Selami İzgü in the 26th minute of the match. Vecdi Hürsev charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vecdi Hürsev the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 27 played minutes Fıorentınaa9988 got a freekick which was hit by Vecdi Hürsev. Kutluay Taçkın's late challenge caught a Gündogmus SK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kutluay Taçkın helped the player get up and apologised. The long shot by Cemal Aygüneş in the 29th minute really tested Ertunç Yastıkcığlu's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Hazım Kuddusi hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute of the match Fıorentınaa9988 got a corner. Gündogmus SK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nebi Ayvazoğlu ran over to the corner to take the kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kılıçalp Güzir to make the kick off. Arda Titiz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Abdulbaki Taygun made a huge save. Hazım Kuddusi might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ertunç Yastıkcığlu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hazım Kuddusi ran back to his position shaking his head. 55 minutes into the match, Gündogmus SK's Erkin Baran sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ertunç Yastıkcığlu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Erkin Baran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ertunç Yastıkcığlu having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kılıçalp Güzir in the 65th minute of play forced Gündogmus SK's goalkeeper Abdulbaki Taygun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arda Titiz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 76thth minute, Abdulbaki Taygun skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some careless play in the Fıorentınaa9988 defense, Hazım Kuddusi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ertunç Yastıkcığlu. The Fıorentınaa9988 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ertunç Yastıkcığlu should have stopped the shot. Fıorentınaa9988's Arda Titiz was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 82nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Hazım Kuddusi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arda Titiz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdulbaki Taygun having to interfere.
