Göztepe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bayram Baykam was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. The supporters of Göztepe booed when Petkim was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rüknettin Geylan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Ahmet Danış Ziya managed to get in a good position for a shot. Göztepe's supporters rose to their feet, but Ahmet Danış Ziya was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Özen Doğan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 30 minutes into the game, Ahmet Danış Ziya recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Özen Doğan. Ahmet Danış Ziya showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. After 34 played minutes Göztepe got a freekick which was hit by Ensar Başeski. Göztepe's Abbas Denizhan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bayram Baykam in the 35th minute of play. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Ahmet Kağan Enginalp sped through Göztepe's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Abbas Denizhan. If Behram Kortan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Ahmet Kağan Enginalp made the kick off in the second half. If Bayram Baykam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd minute, Ahmet Danış Ziya got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Özen Doğan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ahmet Danış Ziya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Behram Kortan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Özen Doğan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Göztepe's zone, Ahmet Kağan Enginalp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abbas Denizhan came out of the goal and Ahmet Kağan Enginalp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abbas Denizhan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Kağan Enginalp in the 71st minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Petkim's goal looked a bit too open when Ahmet Danış Ziya came free, but Özen Doğan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 77th match minute, Petkim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rüknettin Geylan to maneuver through the defense. Göztepe's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Ahmet Kağan Enginalp scored to the left of an out of position Abbas Denizhan, making the score, 1-6. Ahmet Kağan Enginalp recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Ahmet Kağan Enginalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Kağan Enginalp in the 94th minute of play forced Göztepe's goalkeeper Abbas Denizhan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abbas Denizhan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Kağan Enginalp, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. When the match was over Petkim could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Göztepe throughout the match.
