Göztepe:s Arthur de Alcântara showed great skill when he stopped Kuddusî Ulubaş:s penalty. A collision led to Young Boys getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Gencal Tayfur hit a great ball. If Bozkurt Tarancı had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Bozkurt Tarancı made a precise shot to the right of Hasan Ali Radi. Young Boys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 48th minute, Göztepe's Bozkurt Tarancı dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serhat Işıklı stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Bozkurt Tarancı came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Göztepe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bozkurt Tarancı couldn't finish the play.
