Bilal Dokuzoğlu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 3rdth minute, Ataman Ilgın skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Bursaspor's Bektaş Veli Adıvar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cuma Yürük in the 13th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bilal Dokuzoğlu in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ataman Ilgın prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Afyonkarahisar SK's Ataman Ilgın proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save Afyonkarahisar SK from getting a goal against them. Ataman Ilgın made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Denizhan Cumali sent off a good shot on target. Ahmet Yahya Özker's late challenge caught a Bursaspor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ahmet Yahya Özker helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Afyonkarahisar SK's Ahmet Yahya Özker got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Kamuran Baldemir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Ataman Ilgın tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ahmet Vefik Tosun took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ataman Ilgın. Afyonkarahisar SK's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Enginalp Sökmener received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Ataman Ilgın tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Afyonkarahisar SK's zone, Kamuran Baldemir stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ataman Ilgın came out of the goal and Kamuran Baldemir tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ahmet Yahya Özker took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bektaş Veli Adıvar. Bektaş Veli Adıvar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cuma Yürük made a kick off. After some careless play in the Afyonkarahisar SK defense, Kamuran Baldemir kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ataman Ilgın. The Afyonkarahisar SK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ataman Ilgın should have stopped the shot. Ataman Ilgın took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kamuran Baldemir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th minute, Sebati Talayhan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Afyonkarahisar SK's Nusret Himmet got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Kamuran Baldemir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cuma Yürük fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bektaş Veli Adıvar having to interfere. When the referee ended the match the Bursaspor players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
