Hüsnü Üster made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ergin Özveri in the 31st minute of play. If Behzat Elçi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 38th play minutes Nurkan Selmi shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Hüsnü Üster and just under the crossbar into goal. When Rıfkı Nuralp, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 45 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Hüsnü Üster was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 49th minute Fazıl Hüsnü Urluk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hüsnü Üster saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Baran Alp Mutlutekin to strike the kick off in the second half. During the 52nd minute of the match Nurkan Selmi completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nurkan Selmi a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ergin Özveri got free with Hüsnü Üster in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Rıfkı Nuralp came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Fenerbahçe SK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rıfkı Nuralp couldn't finish the play. When the final whistle sounded Fenerbahçe SK left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Nankatsu.
