When Mevlüt Gazir came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Hatayspor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mevlüt Gazir couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute, Mevlüt Gazir left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hatayspor fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Dorukhan Karataş hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute, Özcan Reyyan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 18th play minutes Gökcan İzgü shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Peyami Sarper and just under the crossbar into goal. If Serdar Sağun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ceyhan Peker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serdar Sağun, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Münir Ogün charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Münir Ogün the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Hatayspor's Münir Ogün got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute Mevlüt Gazir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Peyami Sarper saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Balikesir's Serdar Sağun sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ceyhan Peker narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Serdar Sağun was extremely unlucky when he, in the 31st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Özcan Reyyan came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Balikesir fans jumped to their feet. Can Tekinsoy hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Eralp Tanaltay's late challenge caught a Hatayspor's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eralp Tanaltay helped the player get up and apologised. Eralp Tanaltay kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Gökcan İzgü received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Peyami Sarper tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Mevlüt Gazir managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hatayspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Mevlüt Gazir was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Peyami Sarper breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gökcan İzgü in the 49th minute of play forced Balikesir's goalkeeper Peyami Sarper to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Serdar Sağun stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ceyhan Peker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Serdar Sağun in the 62nd minute of the match. Serdar Sağun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Özcan Reyyan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Ceyhan Peker tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eralp Tanaltay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ceyhan Peker having to interfere. After having played for 73 minutes, Özcan Reyyan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Balikesir's supporters crossed their fingers, but Özcan Reyyan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mevlüt Gazir got free with Peyami Sarper in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eralp Tanaltay hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. If Mevlüt Gazir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Serdar Sağun managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balikesir's supporters rose to their feet, but Serdar Sağun was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ceyhan Peker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mevlüt Gazir sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gökcan İzgü blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Peyami Sarper having to make a save. Ceyhan Peker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Özcan Reyyan in the 98th minute of the match. The Hatayspor players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
