Atilla Bumin Tezay didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Şaban Şahruh went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Hayrettin Burçhan came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Ceyhanspor's Genco Oğuzbay. But to his dismay, Genco Oğuzbay quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Ahmet Bülent Ulgu struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Hayrettin Burçhan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ceyhanspor. In the 41st minute Ahmet Bülent Ulgu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hayrettin Burçhan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hayrettin Burçhan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Genco Oğuzbay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Hayrettin Burçhan made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Ahmet Bülent Ulgu sent off a good shot on target. When Necmettin Ekinci fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ferhusspor FK's protests and gave Necmettin Ekinci a yellow card for diving instead. The audience was convinced that Genco Oğuzbay's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hayrettin Burçhan was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. 79 minutes into the game, one of Ferhusspor FK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 80th minute there was a penalty for Ceyhanspor. Kerim Yarlık stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Hayrettin Burçhan. 1-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 99th minute, Genco Oğuzbay managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ceyhanspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Genco Oğuzbay was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hayrettin Burçhan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ferhusspor FK's Hayrettin Burçhan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 101st minute of the match, managed to save Ferhusspor FK from getting a goal against them.
