In the 3rd match minute, Malkara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gürsel Sağlamtürk to maneuver through the defense. 5 minutes into the game, Malkara's Mustafa Hakan Salti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Recai Türcan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Malkara's Azim Egesel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nazmi Bengisoy in the 9th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Malkara's Gürsel Sağlamtürk sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Recai Türcan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Nazmi Bengisoy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Özdemirler Petrol SK's supporters rose to their feet, but Nazmi Bengisoy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Azim Egesel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mustafa Hakan Salti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Recai Türcan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gürsel Sağlamtürk, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Recai Türcan came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Malkara's Baran Refah. But to his dismay, Baran Refah quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Nazmi Bengisoy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Azim Egesel made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Özdemirler Petrol SK's Seyfullah Ankara got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 53rd minute Ecevit Hirfanlı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Recai Türcan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mustafa Hakan Salti got free with Recai Türcan in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 63rd minute Ecevit Hirfanlı shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Recai Türcan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Recai Türcan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ecevit Hirfanlı in the 66th minute of the match. Mustafa Hakan Salti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Recai Türcan having to interfere. Recai Türcan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ecevit Hirfanlı in the 70th minute of play. With a little luck, Özdemirler Petrol SK's Recai Türcan got control of the ball when Mustafa Hakan Salti tried to sneak it across the goal line. Seyfullah Ankara hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Recai Türcan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gürsel Sağlamtürk, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. The supporters of Özdemirler Petrol SK booed when Malkara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seyhun Tosunoğlu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Seyfullah Ankara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Azim Egesel having to interfere. Alpay Duman struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Recai Türcan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malkara. Malkara's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
