Gürcan Tuygun showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alkan Tekinalp in the 3rd minute of the match. Abayhan Geylanoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kilyos's attentive Şenel Akarsu managed to snatch the ball when Veysel Hızlı made a throw-in in the 11th minute of the game. Göksel Canbulat came free with the goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gürcan Tuygun could save by the left post. Sami Başdoğan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hafız Ballı in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Kilyos's goal looked a bit too open when Abayhan Geylanoğlu came free, but Sami Başdoğan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Göztepe 1925 booed when Kilyos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ali Galip Ayvaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Can Yordam didn't quite understand what happened when in the 23 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Sami Başdoğan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abayhan Geylanoğlu in the 26th minute of play. When Göksel Canbulat came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Kilyos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Göksel Canbulat couldn't finish the play. Şenel Akarsu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Gürcan Tuygun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Göksel Canbulat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Göksel Canbulat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sami Başdoğan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ahmet Balısoy, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Sungurhan Işılay kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Göztepe 1925 got a freekick which was hit by Sungurhan Işılay. Göksel Canbulats short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Gürcan Tuygun to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Göksel Canbulat could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Gürcan Tuygun made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hafız Ballı to make the kick off. Gürcan Tuygun stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Göksel Canbulat's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Göksel Canbulat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gürcan Tuygun having to interfere. Alkan Tekinalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Gürcan Tuygun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute Göksel Canbulat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gürcan Tuygun saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ahmet Balısoy in the 85th minute of play forced Kilyos's goalkeeper Sami Başdoğan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Göksel Canbulat in the 93rd minute of play forced Göztepe 1925's goalkeeper Gürcan Tuygun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th minute, Veysel Hızlı hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Kilyos supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Göztepe 1925's performance. The match ended with a win for Göztepe 1925.
