The supporters of Gebze booed when Erdek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Talip Vafi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Necdet Naim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kılıçhan Yusuf's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Necdet Naim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bedrettin Şahinoğlu in the 24th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Kılıçhan Yusuf managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gebze's supporters rose to their feet, but Kılıçhan Yusuf was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Necdet Naim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erdek's Necdet Naim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kılıçhan Yusuf in the 30th minute of play. Necdet Naim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kılıçhan Yusuf in the 35th minute of the match. Erdek's Necdet Naim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Erdek from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kılıçhan Yusuf in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Necdet Naim saved Erdek from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Erdek's Talip Vafi got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Necdet Naim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kılıçhan Yusuf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kılıçhan Yusuf in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Necdet Naim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kılıçhan Yusuf was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes had been played when some careless play by Erdek's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Olcay Köker was slow to take the kick. During this time Gebze's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Gebze's Kılıçhan Yusuf got a free kick in the 55th minute. Erdek's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kılıçhan Yusuf was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Koray Yeltekin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Güneri Memduh made a huge save. Sefa Kızıl kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Hidayet Tezay was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 80th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 83 minutes into the match, Erdek's goal looked a bit too open when Kılıçhan Yusuf came free, but Necdet Naim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Ali Baran Özercan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Erdek's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gebze the free kick.
