In the 4th minute of the match Fetih Uzbay sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Müfit Müfit skillfully saved the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Yenikaraağaç's Bilge Kağan Has sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fırat Mertkan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bilge Kağan Has received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Fırat Mertkan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Atalay Çeliker came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Kocaelispor FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Atalay Çeliker couldn't finish the play. Fırat Mertkan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bilge Kağan Has in the 40th minute of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Fırat Mertkan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
