The referee ignored Eleskirt's protests and gave Evren Saruca a yellow card for diving instead. Latif Kamaci could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Sedat Şahistan made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Devlet Avşaroğlu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Adem Esendağ was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. Gülyali's Adem Esendağ played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Devlet Avşaroğlu in the 43rd minute of play. The supporters of Eleskirt booed when Gülyali was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Devran Tuncalp didn't get a good kick on the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

In the 76th minute, Gülyali's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Azim Okatay fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Şentürk Ayalp in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adem Esendağ saved Gülyali from getting behind. After having played for 80 minutes, Azim Okatay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. An unexpected shot in the 93rd minute by Azim Okatay got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 99th minute Devlet Avşaroğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adem Esendağ saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eleskirt were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
