İlker Uzhan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Ali Baran Uğurhan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Ardahan Okatay hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ali Kürşat Haseki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Veysel Uğural, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Şeray Ağca in the 12th minute of play forced Giresun's goalkeeper Ali Kürşat Haseki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Birant Tuney was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 16th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 27th minute Veysel Uğural shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Kürşat Haseki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ali Kürşat Haseki came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by MALATYA FK's Şeray Ağca. But to his dismay, Şeray Ağca quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Şeray Ağca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ardahan Okatay's late challenge caught a MALATYA FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ardahan Okatay helped the player get up and apologised. Ardahan Okatay hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. MALATYA FK were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Giresun's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Aşkın Kökşin took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Pekin Oksar managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Şeray Ağca made a kick off. Ali Kürşat Haseki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Veysel Uğural, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Veysel Uğural got free with Ali Kürşat Haseki in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 56th minute MALATYA FK were awarded a corner. Aşkın Kökşin went to the cornerflag to take it. MALATYA FK's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aşkın Kökşin in the 58th minute. The corner ended in Aşkın Kökşin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Giresun's Ali Kürşat Haseki did a great save. Şeray Ağca struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Ali Kürşat Haseki didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MALATYA FK. Ali Kürşat Haseki made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Veysel Uğural sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Giresun's zone, Veysel Uğural stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ali Kürşat Haseki came out of the goal and Veysel Uğural tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Şeray Ağca came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the MALATYA FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Şeray Ağca couldn't finish the play. If Şeray Ağca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ali Baran Uğurhan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mustafa Oral in the 75th minute of play. Ali Baran Uğurhan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from İlker Uzhan in the 77th minute of the match. Ali Kürşat Haseki came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by MALATYA FK's Veysel Uğural. But to his dismay, Veysel Uğural quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After a rather tough play, MALATYA FK's Bayındır Akel got a free kick in the 88th minute. If İlker Uzhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Şeray Ağca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ali Kürşat Haseki was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. The Giresun supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching MALATYA FK's performance. The match ended with a win for MALATYA FK.
