Ali Kürşat Haseki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If İlker Uzhan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mustafa Oral to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Müslüm Yastıkcığlu in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ali Kürşat Haseki prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Liverpool FC's zone, Mustafa Oral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sungur Pekgöz came out of the goal and Mustafa Oral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mustafa Oral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abidin Başdoğan got free with Ali Kürşat Haseki in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 67 minutes into the match, Özdemir Sunullah notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Giresun's Ali Kürşat Haseki. Ali Kürşat Haseki was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Giresun's supporters crossed their fingers, but İlker Uzhan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sungur Pekgöz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mustafa Oral in the 84th minute of play. Özdemir Sunullah could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Ali Kürşat Haseki made a huge save. Giresun's Ali Kürşat Haseki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Giresun from getting a goal against them. 94 minutes into the game, Giresun's İlker Uzhan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sungur Pekgöz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Liverpool FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
