The audience thought a goal was coming when Kasım Kızılateş got free with Suphi Tulum in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 20 minutes into the game, Gerede SK's Güney İlighan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Suphi Tulum made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The referee felt a red card was in order, 23 minutes into the game, when Nazım Kuvvet put in a rough tackle. After 23 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Gerede SK! In the 28th minute, Abdulhamit Onatkan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. In the 81st minute Aykan Recep shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Suphi Tulum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gökberk Uçuk hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. If Korkutalp Yağmurdereli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Korkutalp Yağmurdereli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Suphi Tulum having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Güney İlighan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gerede SK fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2.
