Birol İribaş's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Osman Nuri Doğanay read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. 16 minutes into the game, Enginalp Baştuğ threw the ball into play from the sideline. Kartal FK's Şahap Okseven quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. An unexpectedly hard shot by Engin Emiroğlu in the 19th minute of play forced Kartal FK's goalkeeper Osman Nuri Doğanay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kartal FK's Osman Nuri Doğanay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bayezit Akçakıl in the 37th minute of play. In the 39th minute Engin Emiroğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osman Nuri Doğanay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Şahap Okseven scored 1-0 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Şimşek Bucuk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Birol İribaş fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osman Nuri Doğanay having to interfere. Osman Nuri Doğanay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bayezit Akçakıl in the 47th minute of the match.

The wind increased when Birol İribaş made the kick off in the second half. Osman Nuri Doğanay came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Beşiktaş JK's Birol İribaş. But to his dismay, Birol İribaş quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Önder Hatim during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 54 minutes into the game, one of Kartal FK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Kartal FK's Şahap Okseven got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Osman Nuri Doğanay took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Birol İribaş, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Birol İribaş in the 84th minute of play forced Kartal FK's goalkeeper Osman Nuri Doğanay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
