Mutlu Erseç took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Harun Birsen. 67 ESTERGON 's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Melih Cevdet İrfanoğlu in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Gokturkspor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Suphi Kaptan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
