Tunç Ateşoğlu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 3rdth minute, Birdal Trabzonlu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Acun Durhal during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 6 played minutes Galatasaray SK got a freekick which was hit by Acun Durhal. Cicekdagi JK's Atıf Sökmen got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10th minute, Karahan Onar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Galatasaray SK's Aytuğ Koçubey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atıf Sökmen in the 12th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Galatasaray SK's zone, Yusuf Ziya Başar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aytuğ Koçubey came out of the goal and Yusuf Ziya Başar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cicekdagi JK's Birdal Trabzonlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jimmie Odén in the 18th minute of play. Tunç Ateşoğlu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Semavi Yaban hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Acun Durhal kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After having played for 29 minutes, Harun Eskioğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cicekdagi JK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harun Eskioğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 31 minutes, Erdi Keremşah mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cicekdagi JK and the Galatasaray SK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cicekdagi JK's Erdi Keremşah got a free kick in the 32nd minute. The supporters of Cicekdagi JK booed when Galatasaray SK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tolunay Cevizci didn't get a good kick on the ball. Harun Eskioğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aytuğ Koçubey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Aytuğ Koçubey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kuddusî Koryürek, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 42 minutes into the match, Cicekdagi JK's goal looked a bit too open when Jimmie Odén came free, but Birdal Trabzonlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cicekdagi JK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 44th minute, when Jimmie Odén scored to the left of an out of position Birdal Trabzonlu, making the score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

51 minutes into the game, Volkan Sabi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Galatasaray SK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cicekdagi JK the free kick. In the 51st match minute, Galatasaray SK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Volkan Sabi to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Cicekdagi JK's Atıf Sökmen got a free kick in the 54th minute. After 55 played minutes Cicekdagi JK got a freekick which was hit by Erdi Keremşah. When Galatasaray SK's Tunç Ateşoğlu in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cicekdagi JK's goalie prevented a goal. Tunç Ateşoğlu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st minute, Yusuf Ziya Başar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute Yusuf Ziya Başar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aytuğ Koçubey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Atıf Sökmen in the 66th minute of play forced Galatasaray SK's goalkeeper Aytuğ Koçubey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Galatasaray SK booed when Cicekdagi JK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atıf Sökmen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yusuf Ziya Başar struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Aytuğ Koçubey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cicekdagi JK. 78 minutes into the match, Cicekdagi JK's goal looked a bit too open when Tunç Ateşoğlu came free, but Birdal Trabzonlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tunç Ateşoğlu scored 2-1 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Birdal Trabzonlu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 83rd minute, Jimmie Odén got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 89th minute, Tunç Ateşoğlu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Birdal Trabzonlu was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. After some careless play in the Cicekdagi JK defense, Tunç Ateşoğlu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Birdal Trabzonlu. The Cicekdagi JK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Birdal Trabzonlu should have stopped the shot.
