The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Öztürk Bicanoğlu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kürşat Sümer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Abdulmelik Ünver managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beşiktaş's supporters rose to their feet, but Abdulmelik Ünver was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kürşat Sümer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Öztürk Bicanoğlu in the 96th minute of play forced Kepez's goalkeeper Kürşat Sümer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Beşiktaş were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
