Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Esen Turalp took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 2 played minutes Galatasaray got a freekick which was hit by Naci Yetkin. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gani Tuğaltan got free with Hasan Ali Mustafali in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hasan Ali Mustafali made a fantastic save in the 6th minute, when Gani Tuğaltan sent off a good shot on target. Gani Tuğaltan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hasan Ali Mustafali firmly grabbed it by the left post. Meric's Baybars Akçam got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 15thth minute of the game Rafettin Sezai who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Galatasaray's Batı Hatipoğlu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Baybars Akçam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 19 played minutes Galatasaray got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Hamdi Ramazanoğulları. Galatasaray's Çelebi Gülle couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 25th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Meric. The supporters of Meric booed when Galatasaray was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Necmettin Kantara didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 34th minute, Akif Kamran hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gani Tuğaltan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Hasan Ali Mustafali when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Baybars Akçam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Batı Hatipoğlu having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Galatasaray's Behram Çağlayan got a free kick in the 44th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rafettin Sezai stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Galatasaray got a freekick which was hit by Seyfi Tozun. Esen Turalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Hasan Ali Mustafali tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Naci Yetkin came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Galatasaray fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Naci Yetkin couldn't finish the play. Başar Başeski hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Galatasaray's Esen Turalp got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Meric's Hasan Ali Mustafali played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gani Tuğaltan in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute Gani Tuğaltan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hasan Ali Mustafali saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gani Tuğaltan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Galatasaray's Batı Hatipoğlu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Galatasaray from getting a goal against them. Gani Tuğaltan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hasan Ali Mustafali read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play.
