The audience was convinced that Gökçen Kınıkaslan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lokman Cangur was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. 12 minutes into the match, Kandilli's Naci Türköz sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lokman Cangur narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After recieving a nice pass, BEŞİKTAŞ's Akil Beysun tried to score from far away in the 35th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Ahmet Necdet Uraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Kandilli's Gökçen Kınıkaslan got a free kick in the 38th minute. Mete Ulağ fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lokman Cangur having to interfere. If Gökçen Kınıkaslan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th match minute, BEŞİKTAŞ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeynel Şerefhan to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The supporters of BEŞİKTAŞ booed when Kandilli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gökçen Kınıkaslan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kandilli's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
